Async Nationals Announced

Building on the success and popularity of our asynchronous tournaments this season, we are proud to introduce the inaugural 2024 National Online Forensics Async Championships. This event will celebrate the hard work and achievements of competitors across college, high school, middle school, and elementary levels in a uniquely digital and accessible format.

Tournament Details:

  • Dates: All video submissions must be received by Monday, June 3rd, at 8:00 PM Pacific. Preliminary rounds will take place from Tuesday to Thursday, with elimination rounds scheduled from Friday to Sunday if necessary. We will conclude with a celebratory awards ceremony on Monday evening.

  • Format: This will be an asynchronous video national championship tournament, allowing competitors to showcase their skills through pre-recorded videos.

Why an Async Nationals? The transition to online formats has opened the door for more students to participate in national-level competitions. An asynchronous nationals allows competitors from every background and location to engage without the constraints of travel and time. This ensures that every young competitor has the opportunity to shine on a national stage.

Entry Details:

  • Fees: Entry fees are kept reasonable to ensure accessibility for all programs, with payment via credit card available on our website during the tournament week.

  • Judging Requirements: Each participating school must provide one judge for every five entries per pattern. Please note that uncovered entries may be permitted at the discretion of the Tournament Director, though penalty fees will apply.

  • Video Submission: We recommend that competitors’ videos be uploaded as unlisted on YouTube. It is the responsibility of the coaches to ensure that each video link submitted is both functional and corresponds to the correct competitor and entry.

Participation: We will host a single championship division for all events, streamlining the competition and increasing the stakes for our top-tier performers.

For any questions or further information, please don't hesitate to contact us.

We look forward to your participation and to crowning our very first set of asynchronous national champions.

Warm regards,

The National Online Forensics Team
