SYNCHRONOUS
TOURNAMENTS
Synchronous Tournaments are conducted live, in real-time. Competitors perform in front of judges using live video conference rooms.
All tournaments have elementary school, middle school, high school, and college divisions. The schedule includes three preliminary rounds and two or more elimination rounds.

Round 1: 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM
Round 2: 10:45 AM - 12:15 PM
Round 3: 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Elimination Round 1: 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM
Elimination Round 2: 4:45 PM - 6:00 PM (if necessary)
Awards Ceremony: 6:30 PM (earlier if possible)

Competitors may triple-enter in IE and Congress events, with the exception of Extemp (double-entry only for Extemp)
Competitors may only single-enter in Debate events.
In the event of small entry sizes, we may need to collapse events within their event category (e.g. Storytelling and Poetry events collapse to an “interp” event).

ASYNCHRONOUS
TOURNAMENTS
Asynchronous Tournaments require students to record and submit their entries through video (e.g., YouTube unlisted). Judges rank and submit written feedback according to schedule.
All tournaments have elementary school, middle school, high school, and college divisions. We encourage competitors to submit ASYNC entries before bigger tournaments to receive feedback on their performance!

Topics for limited preparation events will be released at 12:00pm PST the Saturday prior to the tournament registration deadline on the ForensicsTournament.net home page. All times are Pacific Standard Time (PST)
Monday 8:00 PM PST - Registration Closes; No new schools may enter the tournament.
Tuesday - Coaches will be notified of collapsed events and missing competitor videos, and can edit entries (add, drop, change video link).
Wednesday 9:00 AM PST - Deadline for coaches to add/drop competitors and enter missing video links. All competitors without posted video links will be subject to being dropped from the tournament at this point in time.
Wednesday 12:00 PM PST - Preliminary ballots will be sent to judges as soon as possible following final add/drops.
Friday 12:00 PM PST - Preliminary ballot rankings and preliminary feedback due back to the Tournament Director. Ballots unreturned at this time will be subject to penalty, and resent to available judges.
Friday 8:00 PM PST - Final rounds paired, breaks posted, final ballots sent to judges as soon as possible following preliminary ballot review. Additional preliminary ballot feedback requests sent to judges.
Sunday 8:00 PM PST - Final ballot ranks and feedback due back to the Tournament Director.
Monday 6:00 PM PST - Deadline for additional ballot feedback; Award ceremony video posted once all ranks are finalized.

TOURNAMENT FEES
NOF strives to have our tournaments as accessible as possible. If you have any concerns regarding the fees, please let us know. You can contact the Tournament Director through the tournament homepage (linked in “Registration Here!” buttons above).

School Fee: $50
Individual Event Entries: $25/entry
DUO Event Entries: $45/entry
Congress Entries: $30/entry
One person Debate (LD, IPDA, NFA-LD) Entries: $50/entry
Two person Debate (NOF Parli, PF) Entries: $60/entry
Three+ person Debate (World Schools) Entries: $75/entry
Changes after entry deadline - $25 per change (subject to tournament director approval)

Uncovered IE/Congress Slot (with Tournament Director Approval): $35/slot
Uncovered Debate Team (with Tournament Director Approval): $125/team

Judge drops within 24 hours of the tournament will be charged a $150 judge no-show fee
Judges who submit incomplete or blank eBallots may be charged a judge no-show fee for failing to complete their judge assignment. The judge duty includes both ranking the speakers along with giving adequate constructive commentary
Judges: First Missed Ballot - $25 / Subsequent Missed Ballots - $50
Delay of tournament fees (e.g., due to not returning a ballot) may be assessed from $20-$100 based on the severity of the delay.
