Internship Opportunities: Tournament Directing, Business Administration, and Communication

National Online Forensics is one of the fastest-growing online speech and debate organizations in the country — and we're expanding fast. This season we're launching our Europe and Asia debate leagues and deepening our reach across the U.S., with a particular push in Minnesota, Texas, Florida, and New York. We're hiring our first-ever operations contractor to help make it happen.

This is a hands-on role for a college student or recent grad who knows the forensics world and wants to see how a national organization runs from the inside. You'll work directly with Alexandra (Director of Operations), Robert (Executive Director and NFA Hall of Fame member), and Danny (Technical Lead and creator of ForensicsTournament.net) on the projects that shape NOF's future.

Because you'll be the first person in this role, we're building it around you. You'll get real ownership, real mentorship, and a direct hand in growing an organization that reaches students around the world.

What you'll work on

You'll help across three core areas:

  • Business administration — the behind-the-scenes operations that keep tournaments and the organization running

  • Communications — social media, marketing, and outreach as we grow into new regions and launch new leagues

  • Program development — building out the events, structures, and initiatives that expand what NOF offers

If you have the skills and interest, there's also room to take on web development and help us integrate AI into how the company operates. We'll lean into your strengths, so the exact mix will depend on what you bring.

This role is a good fit if you

  • Have experience competing in or coaching forensics at the college, high school, middle school, and/or elementary level

  • Have skills or a strong interest in social media, marketing, and communications

  • Bring great organizational, interviewing, and interpersonal skills

  • Are a self-starter who can produce high-quality work with minimal supervision — this is real project work, not a shadowing or observation role

The details

  • Pay: $15–20/hour, depending on experience

  • Hours: 5–15 hours per week, depending on candidate availability

  • Commitment: Minimum of four months, 8 preferred

  • Location: Fully remote

  • Eligibility: This is an independent contractor role, open to applicants who are 18 or older and authorized to work in the United States
