NOF Speech & Debate Timer App Available Now!

Timing a round shouldn't be the hardest part of judging one.

In time for the 2026-27 season, the NOF Speech and Debate Timer is available as a free app on the Google Play Store and Apple Store. This incredible tool was built by Danny Cantrell, NOF's CTO and the developer behind ForensicsTournament.net.

The app was made for the way rounds actually run. It keeps accurate time in the background or with your device locked, so a stray notification or a dimmed screen doesn't cost you a speech. Pause, resume, and reset are available right from the notification shade, without unlocking or hunting for the right tab. Preset timers cover Lincoln-Douglas, Policy, Public Forum, and other formats, and a flexible custom timer handles everything else… including your league's local quirks. Vibration cues at intervals you choose let you signal time without breaking the room's focus.

Just as importantly, here's what it doesn't do: no ads, no accounts, nothing shared with third parties. Judges and competitors download it and use it. That's the whole experience.
