IN THIS LESSON

Learn how to give constructive feedback to the competitors.

Please give constructive feedback to each competitor. Constructive feedback is specific to the competitor, useful, and actionable. The competitor should be able to use your comments to improve.

For example, comments such as:

“Good job / Great speech / Nice job”

or

“It was bad / weak / okay”

are not helpful because they are not specific nor useful nor actionable.

What was good and why? What did you not like and why? How can they improve their performance?

Remember, the competitors read your comments and use your feedback to improve. If your feedback is too short or not effective, the tournament staff will ask you to provide more constructive commentary.

The guide below offers more details on giving feedback, as well as examples of high quality, adequate, and inadequate ballots. Please take a look before the tournament!
